Thinking we can slow down technological progress — even in AI — is wishful thinking.
Technological progress cannot be slowed. The clearest proof is military power. Look at the atomic bomb: it was not a positive development for humanity. Yet it happened. And it is still here.
You simply cannot stop it. Technological progress is the child of itself. It continues because humanity exists. And humanity, by its very nature, is driven to expand knowledge and technology without limits.

There will never be enough memory.
Without memory a human being cannot learn, heal, trade, or recognize himself. A civilization is the same: science, medicine, markets, law. Everything is remembrance.
The data that must be stored is not growing in a straight line. It is multiplying to the nth power, every second.
AI made the real limit visible: computing is not enough. We have to remember. Weights, context, archives, records, histories. Compute without memory is an engine with no fuel.
Whoever funds processing power and neglects memory will be late to a world that, every second, already has more it cannot afford to forget.
