This framing device emphasizes the Prime Minister's personality as the focal point for all analysis. However, this approach overlooks the significance of the general election results, which have provided a diminished mandate to him and his party, indicating at best a coalition government led by him.

By continuing to emphasize terms like "Modi 3.0," "Modi Sarkaar," and "Modi Cabinet," journalists (rather than party functionaries) shift the focus away from governance issues and the operations of a coalition government towards personality politics and the Prime Minister's imagery. I hope that newsrooms and editors in our newspapers will consider and debate the terminology they choose to describe the Union Government.
