Some of our urban planning and design students joined 5,000 other urban planning professionals in Denver, Colorado, for the @APA_Planning 2025 National Planning Conference! The conference included professional meetings, presentations on contemporary issues, and debates on urban planning topics. Networking opportunities included nightly receptions with events sponsored by the Missouri and Kansas chapters of the American Planning Association.

Congratulations to graduate students Jayadithya Nalajala, Murali Krish and Mysore Rahul for winning first place at the Midwest Block-a-Thon, a 20-hour blockchain hackathon, under the general track category! The team impressed the judges with their innovative project titled โBlock-a-Tick: Secure, Decentralized Event Ticketing on the Blockchain โ Where Every Ticket is a Unique NFT Experience.โ Their project redefines event ticketing by utilizing blockchain to ensure security, ownership and transparency, making every ticket a one-of-a-kind NFT. The team took home a $1,500 prize and the title of Best Hack of the entire event.
