Dear Sanju Samson,
On behalf of the entire nation, we apologize for the endless trolling, the "inconsistent" labels, and every time we doubted your spot in the team. You've carried the pressure with grace and delivered when it mattered most. Forgive us—keep smashing it for India! 🇮🇳🫡
With regret and respect,
Bharat
@deepigoyal My only question why do we even need 10 mins delivery, and if someone needs it in 10 mins charge them 100 bucks extra and xfer that extra bucks directly to the gig worker. Only and only if 10 mins delivery is safe.
North India is reeling under an air pollution emergency. @PMOIndia needs to call an urgent meeting with Chief Ministers and make this a priority issue. We are all slowly being smothered to death
About 3 hours ago, 91 out of 100 most polluted cities (in terms of #AQI) in the world were in India. Instead of helping people breathe, the priorities seem to be elsewhere. Whether @BJP4India or @INCIndia or @AamAadmiParty, the focus is more on optics & politics than basics of implementing stern measures on the ground. Right to live ought to take precedence over any economic activity. For instance, why should construction on certain government projects be allowed? One can catch up on the lost progress for working more once the situation improves.
The mass slow poisoning in Delhi continues as AQI remains in the HAZARDOUS category, with PM2.5 levels 21 TIMES more than standard!
The government apathy to the situation is baffling. While the Delhi govt continues to take band-aid measures like distributing bio-gas heaters to watchmen and sprinkling (instead of misting) water on the roads, the union environment ministry continues its exemption given to certain power units of thermal power plants that release untreated sulphur dioxide (PM2.5 contributor) in the air!
Today’s @IndianExpress report says, 15 of 35 such power units in Delhi’s 300km radius don’t treat this toxic emission—AND CONTINUE TO RUN! @byadavbjp any thoughts why? And why can’t the Delhi govt say anything against this? @mssirsa@gupta_rekha? Your inaction is making Hitler prouder by the day!
I am so sad to see my lovely city, Delhi, being reduced to a Gas Chamber.
Delhiites love their city so much that despite this life-threatening air, they choose to live there.
I remember, the first time we saw such bad AQI levels was in 2016. I was a 19-year-old and stepped out to reach the office the next day after Diwali.
I was walking from Moolchand metro to catch a bus. At that busy juncture, even as there was hardly any traffic, there was almost zero visibility.
I thought it was a one-time affair. Things got better (a little) only during COVID.
I moved out for work but my parents, family, friends and the people of my lovely city still breathe toxic air.
I've failed to convince them to move out because, perhaps, everyone loves their city so much.
Govts have come and gone, but this problem has stayed forever.
Is this what we deserve?
