🇮🇩 Indonesia’s forest loss surged 66% in 2025, the highest in eight years.

Around 434,000 hectares were cleared, much of it driven by President Prabowo’s push for food and energy self-sufficiency.

Nearly half of the land cleared was natural forest, including peatlands, turned into “food reserve forests” for rice and bioenergy. Borneo took the hardest hit, followed by Sumatra and Papua.

Experts warn this surge pushes Indonesia back to deforestation levels not seen since the mid-2010s.

i wonder how those pejabat bisa tidur nyenyak dan haha hihi knowing there are so many people out there in Sumatra, especially in Aceh, have become flood victims, losing their homes, their jobs, even their lives.
