🔔 A TEACHER'S WORK DOESN'T END WHEN THE BELL RINGS.
When learners leave the classroom, a teacher's responsibilities often continue.
There are lessons to prepare, books to mark, assessments to review, learners to support and new approaches to explore.
Much of the work that makes effective teaching possible happens beyond the hours the public sees.
As we continue reflecting on World Teachers' Day, let us recognise not only what teachers do in the classroom, but also the dedication behind every lesson.
Teaching is more than the hours spent in front of learners.
💬 Teachers, what part of your work outside classroom hours do you wish more people understood?

📚 GREAT TEACHERS NEVER STOP LEARNING.
Teaching is a profession that demands continuous growth.
Every new skill acquired, every teaching method improved and every opportunity for professional development contributes to better classroom experiences and stronger learning outcomes.
Continuous Professional Development (CPD) is not simply about attending workshops. It is about remaining effective, relevant and responsive to the changing needs of learners.
When teachers grow, learners benefit.
💬 Teachers, what new skill or teaching approach have you learned recently?

🟠 YOUR VOICE. YOUR UNION.
A strong Union begins with members who are informed, involved and willing to speak up.
UNATU provides a collective platform through which teachers can raise concerns, share experiences and advocate for their professional rights, welfare and dignity.
But representation is strongest when members actively participate.
Your voice matters because the Union is stronger when teachers speak together.
💬 Teachers, what is one issue you believe deserves greater attention now in our profession?

Education belongs to every child.
No matter where a child lives or what circumstances surround them, their right to education should not be up for negotiation.
Education is a right. It belongs to every child.
Teachers are mentors, advocates, role models, and so much more.
Every day, they help children overcome barriers, build confidence, and keep learning, often in the most challenging circumstances.
But they cannot do it alone. The world needs 44 million additional teachers by 2030. Investing in teachers means investing in every child’s future.
