My brother and I will change film forever and we start soon.
As it was written, so it shall be.
We are going to be minting and auctioning a true short film for one of the first times in this space. It may not be the technical first, but it will be the best that's been released, even compared to stuff I've seen previewed by other artists recently (no offence).
My brother is the sole creator and filmmaker. He wrapped shooting in the desert last week. He is half the operation with lots to say. He will be introduced soon.
If the sale goes the way we believe it will, we have five other filmmakers ready to start their art on blockchain career. They will help us kickstart our paradigm shift and be considered by history as the first class of who started all of what's to come.
Watched by all, owned by few.
The only reason this medium has never been considered high art by the masses is because the only way to financialize it has been to commoditize it. Sell as many tickets possible.
When all film existed on reels, it could only be shown at select locations (theatres which contained the proper display equipment), therefore, access had to be paid for. But in the digital word, access is no longer difficult. One billion people could watch the same film at a time. It no longer makes sense to pay for access, it's why people aren't going to theatres, Netflix needs to enforce archaic password sharing protocols, and why there are more young men illegally streaming sports games than there are watching legally. All digital media consumption will eventually be free soon enough. The flip side to this is that with unparalleled access, the greatest incentive ever to be the owner of this content now exists.
It's finally time we give people the ability to own the art they've built such a fervent affinity for.
Film has far and away been the most popular and important art form of the last 50 years. We're going to revive the industry. We're going to finance filmmakers not by monetizing access to their work, but by monetizing the love for it - allowing the world to own the art they love.
We are putting our films on the blockchain but by no means are we considering this primarily a crypto initiative. This is a film initiative simply made possible by the blockchain. We have no plans to appeal solely to Web3 people, nor do we have any interest in doing that. We are making art for all people, and it will be collected by those who believe in it. Whatever background they come from, they come from.
Failure in our pursuit is not an option.
