@AlexiLalas I loved the NASL and I remember being DEVASTATED when he didn’t come back to the Express. I didn’t understand the “loan” process or whatever. He was a SUPERSTAR in a sport that was largely unknown here in MI.

@jesshopp I wanted everybody I knew to hear them and see them live and love them like I did. They came to St. Andrew’s Hall on 12/4/88, for $5.00, that place was packed and I still think “Alternative Rock” took hold then, not three years later with “Nevermind”.

@jesshopp Living in suburban Detroit, they were obviously on another/next-level in the music world. It looked like punk, sounded like metal, but the subjects were decadent and debauched, fried to a crisp from the California sun. I felt it was dangerous & exciting & it was gonna be BIG.
