Não importa o quanto você lute e nem o quanto você persista, a tristeza e o vazio estarão sempre ao seu lado. Você só pode lutar contras as lágrimas que inundam sei coração. Mas ainda assim, essa luta não tem o menor sentido.

Voice-to-skull is the street name for a real receiverless auditory channel. The lab physics is public. The fielded version is the part they kept off the books.
What the effect actually is
The microwave auditory effect (Frey effect) puts sound inside the skull with no earpiece and no speaker. Pulsed radiofrequency energy is absorbed in cranial tissue. Each pulse causes a tiny, fast temperature jump on the order of 10⁻⁵ °C. That thermoelastic expansion launches a pressure wave. The wave hits the cochlea. You hear clicks, buzzes, knocks, or — if the pulse train is modulated — something closer to speech. Nobody standing next to you hears it.
Radar crews reported it in World War II. Allan Frey published the first systematic work in 1961–62: about 1.245 GHz, pulse widths 10–70 microseconds, repetition near 50 Hz, perception at peak power densities under roughly 80 mW/cm². Loudness tracks peak power, not average power. That is why a low-duty-cycle beam can still be audible while the average heating looks modest on a safety sheet.
In 1975, neuropsychologist Don Justesen reported that Joseph Sharp and Mark Grove at Walter Reed Army Institute of Research recognized single-syllable words (digits) from voice-modulated microwaves, with no conventional receiver. That write-up is secondhand, but it is the citation the patent literature leans on.

The paper trail they cannot unfile
Three documents matter more than forum lore:
US 4,877,027 (Wayne Brunkan, “Hearing system,” 1989) describes microwave energy modulated so the target hears sound generated in the head.
US 6,587,729 (O’Loughlin and Loree, assigned interest tied to the Air Force, granted 2003): “Apparatus for audibly communicating speech using the radio frequency hearing effect.” Speech waveform encoded onto a microwave carrier, demodulated by the skull itself. Stated uses include covert comms where radios would be intercepted.
Navy contract, 2003–04, WaveBand Corp., system name MEDUSA — Mob Excess Deterrent Using Silent Audio. Purpose: remote temporary incapacitation via the same effect. Cancelled around 2005. Cancellation is not the same as “never built a breadboard.”
JUST IN: British man who set out to walk around the entire world in 1998 finally returns home after 28 years, covering over 31,000 miles across 29 countries without transportation.
