“a god who comes down, steps down from his throne in heaven, where …the world is described as his footstool and then washes his disciples' feet. That, I think, should profoundly move us.” @WesleyLHuff

What a delight to get to talk with @johnpauldickson about Christians Reading Classics (@ZonderAcademic). Undeceptions is incredible to listen to, every time--feels more like radio drama than a podcast. https://t.co/kGOeVfvxtN

When Chris Tomlin discovered the earliest known Christian hymn, one thing stunned him: the first worship song we have “has nothing to do about us” and is all about the glory of God. He explains why that changes how we think about modern worship and the songs we sing in church today.

Professor John Dickson talks to me about the documentary, "The First Hymn" opening in theatres March 24 & 26 from @FathomEnt A Christian hymn discovered in Egypt becomes a modern worship song from @christomlin and Ben Fielding.

My friend @johnpauldickson recently filmed and produced a fascinating documentary on one of the earliest hymns ever discovered! Pulled from the sands of Egypt's Oxyrhynchus, this papyrus scrap containing the earliest known Christian hymn (complete with both its lyrics and musical notation) is put to music again nearly 2 millennia later. The debut of the film happens world-wide March 24-26. Check it out!

I recently presented @undeceptions’s @johnpauldickson with a manuscript fascimile of P. Oxy. 1786 at this past week’s The Church in History AC conference. P. Oxy. 1786 is the focus document of John’s The First Hymn documentary.
Imagining a world without God might just be the best argument for God.

@undeceptions is quickly becoming one of my favourite podcasts. A scholarly approach to various topics concerning the Bible and Christianity. Very refreshing. This episode, which I recently listened to, is very interesting and important.

Our last episode of the season lands today.
Lots of people now describe themselves as “spiritual but not religious”, but taking that next step - that leap of faith - into a formal belief might actually be more rational than not. https://t.co/BGJTLxRMlG
The world’s attention has recently been on the Vatican, and the election of the new Pope.
But what’s the history behind the office? What makes a good Pope?
By looking at the extraordinary career of John Dickson’s favourite pontiff, we try to answer those questions. Listen now!
Like it or not, life will let us down. Despite this, people spend their whole lives working out how to avoid disappointment.
But the Bible offers a different solution.
It gives us tools to grieve well, to lament.
We also find a God that sits with us in our grief. Listen now!
