Here is what we are working on, the world we are building, will be shared with you, in the form of Challenging 2D #pixelart Videogame, a Story Driven Comic Book that precedes the game story, plus a silly 4-panel adventure just for fun. We will share more with time.

@PlayGameGen While watching wolves on youtube I noticed it, how seamless they change the gait, how different the gaits are, and how aware they are of foot placement without looking. It is fascinating, and yes, it definitely enhances how alive these pixelart creatures feel and look.
DevLog 012 - So, I spent unhealthy amount of time watching animals walk or run.
The walks of a monkey/lemur/wolf are distinct.
But just in one animal, sometimes the way they walk is completely different from the way they trot or run.๐คฏ

Send this to a friend who is a chicken, or are you a chicken? ๐
My grandma used to be scared of them, but why?
They are just mini-dinosaurs ๐ฆ
This is wip #creaturedesign for my game, giving them more neck animations at the moment.

DevLog 014 - A great thing about procedural animations is that sometimes you have to set a couple of parameters, and it will be enough to make it look and feel good. But also, it takes very little to make it look ridiculous.

Sometimes to dance, you only need to move your neck... and sometimes you need to get injured while doing it, otherwise... you aren't dancing sweetheart.
#indiedev#indiegame#CreatureDesign#pixelart
Incorporating proper neck and tail movement into our #creatures makes a big difference to the feel of their combat animations.
But what else can they do with their necks and tails? You will have to stay tuned to find out ๐ค

Two distinct personalities just by tweaking size, neck angle, and gaze of these two creatures. ๐ฆ๐ฆ
Same base code, yet quite different outcomes.
#screenshotsaturday#pixelart#gamedev#indiegames
I think Pokรฉmon creatures should have more explicit evolution animations, idk metamorphosis can be messy and disturbing in some cases, but also fun and interesting.
What do you think?
#screenshotsaturday#pixelart#gamedev#indiegames
DevLog 013 - I'm having fun customising creatures & designing code to generate slight variations at runtime so, it feels different from each other
Each #creature enjoys own personality, behaviour & moods, makes it fun to face them again
#indiedev#indiegames#gamer#pixelart
I am working on building this world bit by bit, creature by creature.
This one crawls and hops around.
What vibe does this one give you?
How is Monday moving for you?
#solodev#creature#indiegamedev#pixelart
DevLog 011 - What's the weirdest Long-necked creature you have ever seen? Maybe Loch Ness Monster? Maybe an Ostrich? is there any Long-necked bug? or even a creature from any games?
#screenshotsaturday#pixelart#gamedev#indiegames
Experimenting with what kinds of neck behaviors I can do for my creatures. A giraffe or a long-necked lizard probably behaves differently. Idk, maybe I will find something interesting.
#indiegame#indiedev#gamedev#pixelart
DevLog 010 - This week has been tough for many reasons. This neck thing will be use in all kinds of creatures, so it needs to be flexible. It will work for tails, feathers, hair... ๐ฎโ๐จBut now it is time to code some animations to bring our game to life.

This gave me some troubles making it look more natural, but it is working now. I like it when enemies follow your position with their heads. I remember playing Mario Odyssey, and being very impressed at how Mario will move his head and look at things around.

T&D 003 : So they are Tig & Duck.
But who are you?
Let's say Hi! in the comments.
Hi everyone! I hope you are enjoying yourselves.
Let's get to know each other ๐
