HRF condemns Ethiopia’s sham June 1 general elections, which crowned dictator Abiy Ahmed and his Prosperity Party with a landslide victory following an electoral process void of genuine democratic competition and discredited by opposition boycotts, political repression, the exclusion of significant parts of the electorate, and a campaigning overwhelmingly skewed in favor of the incumbent.
This dictator has persecuted Christians since 2018 and is now claiming victory in what it calls an election in order to continue its project of killing Christians, burning churches, sponsoring ethnic conflicts, and dragging the country backward.
Ethiopia: Reports that several senior ENDF colonels have been killed across the Amhara Region during Fano counter-offensives, including Colonel Abera who was killed by Tewodrose commands of the Amhara Fano National Movement
Red alert issued for Dera, North Shoa, Ethiopia
Murder, abductions and arson reported, the incident started on June 15 but it is still ongoing! Seems the regime in Ethiopia is hell bent on escalating post-election violence in all forms in order to make sure no election outcome is questioned.
Escalated war, religious and ethnic violence all carried out in a coordinated way have all been reported since June 1st, ( first day of the 7th election in Ethiopia under the current ethnic apartheid system)

#AS_Editorial: ‘Break this chain of attacks’: #East_Arsi's bloodshed persisted because impunity prevailed
A government that repeatedly fails to prevent foreseeable atrocities, repeatedly fails to identify perpetrators, and repeatedly fails to secure justice cannot absolve itself of responsibility. Through inaction, negligence, and ineffective response, it is becoming an accessory to the cycle of violence.
East Arsi does not need another statement of concern. It needs answers. It needs accountability.
And it needs an independent investigation with the authority to establish who is killing civilians, who is enabling the violence, and why the state continues to fail those it is constitutionally obligated to protect.

The Orthodox Christian communities in the Oromia region of Ethiopia have suffered deadly attacks earlier this month, with dozens of Christians killed and churches targeted.
Across Africa, Islamist extremist groups are carrying out repeated attacks against Christian communities in countries including Nigeria, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Mozambique, and Ethiopia.
Ethiopia: Dozens of Christians were slaughtered in recent days by ethnic militants in the Oromo region.
The Ethiopian Orthodox Christian community was intentionally targeted.
Where is the international outrage?
