Today’s Supreme Court decision effectively guts a key pillar of the Voting Rights Act, freeing state legislatures to gerrymander legislative districts to systematically dilute and weaken the voting power of racial minorities - so long as they do it under the guise of “partisanship” rather than explicit “racial bias.” And it serves as just one more example of how a majority of the current Court seems intent on abandoning its vital role in ensuring equal participation in our democracy and protecting the rights of minority groups against majority overreach.
The good news is that such setbacks can be overcome. But that will only happen if citizens across the country who cherish our democratic ideals continue to mobilize and vote in record numbers - not just in the upcoming midterms or in high profile races, but in every election and every level.
@PressSec Can we please get our 2,000 check we were promised and maybe some affordable healthcare. I'm currently getting that from Mexico. So please don't
f with them anymore. They are the only ones helping the US citizens. Portfolios matter more than lives in US.
@seanhannity@PressSec It's expected from this administration to report on something that happened 9 years ago instead of the current situation. Deflecting is their go to.
@TRobinsonNewEra It seems there was a bit of editing to this tape and the sign jumped to hide her face. So it's hard to say
What's really happening here. But yes, as with any cause people should know what they are protesting.
Remember, anger is energy. Use it wisely. We are only 10 months away from grinding this sadistic authoritarian regime to a halt and impeaching the pedophile führer and his fascist Nazi minions. 🙌🙏💪👏✊️👇
@bekahj@TrumpDailyPosts because the banks are his friends. I suspect with lower interest rates some people will spend more to make the economy look great! Then Americans will hit rock bottom again paying off the debt. Freedom isn't free.
@TrumpDailyPosts One year? Use this opportunity to pay off those credit cards folks! More debt will blow up your payments beginning next January. Along with losing your tax free OT in 2028.
@simon_reseke@WhiteHouse@MichaelDell That's wonderful. Now fix the healthcare issue so the elders can eat and not have to do a reverse mortgage to pay their doc bill. Or is that messing too much with the millions people are making on the stock market off of the sock and tired.
@Fedsurrection20@libsoftiktok Sitting Bull joined his first war party at 14 and soon gained a reputation for bravery in battle. In 1868, the Sioux accepted peace with the U.S. government, but when gold was discovered in the Black Hills in the mid-1870s, a rush of white prospectors invaded Sioux lands.
