On this #TransVisibilityDay, I want to shine a light on new-to-me authors who are trans and/or writing about trans issues or have centred trans/NB characters.
I give my personal recommendation for all of the following books mentioned.
🧵 1/10
@Berlinnaeus@IrishRugby In any and all other sports, inclusivity is central. All are welcome, and there is a place for everyone. Participation is what counts. Many in the IRFU will hopefully realise this, and work to reverse this decision.
EWRFC oppose IRFU ban of transgender women’s participation in women’s rugby. Read our statement below. We call on allies to support us, as we support those in the women’s game who oppose this policy and in calling for further research in this area #RugbyForAll
A cow pat is kind of like the mines in @FraggleRock.
Only, instead of “Doozers” they are a home to multitudes of Dung beetles and many other insects. It’s incredible how interconnected our ecosystem is and how our birds, bats and mammals benefit from our grazing ruminants. 🐄 🐑
A week later and my review of Lemon & Duke on Google Maps magically made it out of purgatory... Sensitive & defensive men, eh?

If you know knitters/crocheters who would appreciate being forewarned that they're not welcome, click it as "helpful"
Sympathies with the many cis and intersex people who are now going to have their gender questioned by fans/opposition/team mates with a chip on their shoulders as a result of disinformation and transphobia. The witch-hunt will continue.

➡️ Right: 🇬🇧 sheep grazing a diverse herbal ley
Advocates of a shift to ‘plant based’ diets make no distinction between the two; they want you to think both are as bad as each other.

@AmandaColeen OK, I'm confused - I thought the figure in the blue dress was your sister (granted it looks like this would contravene health & safety protocols, if it's a live human, though you mentioned she's been exciled, so...)
From today (Wednesday, 10th August, 2022), the HSE is inviting people aged 60 years and over and pregnant women to make an appointment for their second booster dose at https://t.co/8PYt3VIgux with appointments available from August 15th.
In my opinion, these are some of Dublin's best spots for enjoying beautiful food and a spot of sunshine during this sunny spell. 😘

@magnumlady@LemonAndDuke Especially since @LemonAndDuke only made us aware of their anti-knitting policy AFTER our food and drinks had been served.
No explanation, no apology in the week since.
Wow, @LemonAndDuke shocked at the ignoramus you have as your manager - Sully - who objected to a large group who were all eating and drinking just because we're knitters. That's me never darkening your door again, or ever bringing custom to you again.
Question for the day: What helps you feel safe/welcome in a public space?
We're talking about places that may not necessarily be LGBTQ+ focussed, it could be anywhere.
It's interesting to see what people may be able to do easily to support the community in other ways 😊
9th August 1878: Irish architect and designer Eileen Gray is born. Gray was a pioneer of the Modern Movement, with a permanent exhibition at the National Museum of Ireland. She was bisexual and often frequented the lesbian circles of the time. #OnThisDay#Queerstory
@undermeoxter@RealKaren@LemonAndDuke You weren’t allowed to knit after you’d sat there long enough for 1 round and food? The maths not mathing. You were using the pub to socialise? Really don’t understand how in a double pandemic on a TUESDAY, a lingering group spending money is unwanted #lemonandduke
