A 5-year-old called 911 in the middle of the night because there was a monster under his brother’s bed.

So Nico grabbed his Nerf gun and called for backup.

When the officer arrived, Nico described a black monster with big teeth making scratching noises.

The officer crouched down and asked:

“Should we call the SWAT team… or handle it ourselves?”

Nico chose “me and you.”

That’s when the officer casually revealed he was already on the SWAT team.

Nico led the way down the hallway, Nerf gun ready.

And there really WAS something creepy under the bed - a scary Halloween toy that had fallen underneath and was making noises.

The officer didn’t laugh at him.

He told Nico it looked scary enough to startle him too, removed the “monster,” and made sure everything was safe.

Then he went back to his cruiser, returned with a SWAT challenge coin, and made Nico an honorary member of the team.

His only advice for the next monster emergency?

Wake Mom and Dad first.

Somewhere tonight, one little boy is sleeping easier knowing he has SWAT backup.
