With a hop, skip and a jump we brought our story-led nature play to Glasgow Green on Friday for the @ipascotland Pop Up Play Event. It was SO great to join all the other play enthusiasts, welcome local school and nursery children and have mega-fun in the sun
Again! Again, please!
151 @seed_ball matchboxes ready and waiting for the @IPA_world conference in Glasgow tomorrow. We're pop-up playing on Glasgow Green with school weans & delegates. Delighted to gift these seedballs to all participants! Grow more #nativewildflowers: help more #nativewildlife
The bees, butterflies, moths, hoverflies and birds are going to be overjoyed when @minishant_ps plant their home made seedballs. Excellent instruction following, measuring and squelching skills. #underskyplay
Deer ears, minibeast hunting, bird spotting, tree hugging, colour collecting, all in a morning at @minishant_ps Thank you Class 1 for sharing this beautiful woodland. #underskyplay
Class 1 were challenged with using their senses to explore our local woodland walk! Lots of trust being built here when we lost our sense of sight! Thank you to Katie from Undersky for the fun activities! #outdoorlearning
A wonderful way to spend the day! Exploring the wildlife walk with @minishant_ps Class 2. So much knowledge and enthusiasm for their local birds, trees, flowers and minibeasts. Thanks for being great guides. #underskyplay
Explorations, observing the natural world, solving problems and being creative. The P4,5,6,&7 classes @HolmstonPS brought new ideas and thoughtful questions as we investigated the importance of staying curious. Hoping to inspire a few more scientists! @sacstem
Mrs Badger was quite a star yesterday, appearing right on cue to help the children learn about hibernation. Look at those bat wings as the children stretch after sleeping upside down! Thanks for a fab day of outdoor learning about Scottish wildlife.
Brrrrriiiiing! - the alarm clock woke us all up at @ForehillN yesterday. We surprised the children (and adults) with a snuffling Mrs Badger then wiggled like worms, sang a sleepy badger song, caught flies for a snack, slept like a bat then stashed some pinecones. Outdoor fun!
@JannPeacock @AberlourCCT It was lovely to meet everyone today! Looking forward to lots more fun games and nature exploring over the next few weeks. Our favourite minibeast find today was a slug!π#slugsaremorethanslime
Fun in the spring sunshine! We loved helping P3 discover more about our wonderful world through outside play. And learn more important topics for @earthhour
We're thinking about games with children relating to their amazing underground communications. Does anyone know how far a Mother Tree's mycelium network extends? What distance do mycelium travel from one tree to another? Sorry, I will read your book soon @MerlinSheldrake
