@HellcowKeith Playing my own Pokémon-hack of Ironsworn tonight! Always a lot of fun. I usually DM but with this my friends and I can play without a DM. I'm excited to see where the story takes us this time!
@WuDeRpg I usually eat the same thing for Lunch as I did for Breakfast, so they're the same meal to me. The only differene is time and volume (lunch is bigger). I have an irregular working schedule, so the time doesn't really matter to me. (Sometimes I eat lunch at 8 AM, sometimes 8 PM)
@PirateGonzalez Congratulations on the succesful Kickstarter!
Will there be any possibilities for some late pledges? I learned about this kickstarter 5 minutes ago and I would have loved to back this.
@WizardsRespite I would say 4.
At the table 4 is the sweetspot for balancing party interaction and individual spotlights. Outside of the game I prefer 5 or 6 since it's a bit more wiggle room for missing players.
@SlyFlourish General: consistency and momentum. Meet up as often as you can and play with missing players.
As a DM: use your best ideas during your next session. Don't sit on them, don't get distracted by new campaign ideas. Wish the campaign had a different story? Throw it in there asap!
@I_Lostalim@xiangilliam@itsginnydi To build on this:
Take the monsters total HP and divide by 10 to get the damage threshold (DT). Make marks based on the amount of damage dealt:
Less than DT: half a mark (/)
Equal to DT: full mark (X)
Multiple of DT: multiple marks (XXX)
At 10 marks, the creature is defeated.
@SlyFlourish I have tried running many different dungeons over the last decade, and for some reason the gameplay just doesn't click for me. I get bored as a DM. I've learned I prefer running event-driven sessions instead of location-driven sessions.
@UltraViio I think that's a healthy attitutude! Work can be fulfilling and fun, but in the end it's just work. There's more important stuff in life. Sadly not all employers see it that way. I'm lucky to have a company and a supervisor that do
@UltraViio I think having goals in life is important, but they don't have to be work related. I had my yearly performance review yesterday and my manager asked me where I see myself in 5 years. I answered I'll hopefully be a published author and be working less at the company.
@UltraViio That sounds lovely! Have fun!
I celebrated Christmas with my family last night. Tonight I'm celebrating with just Florence and I.
I have to work both days this Christmas, and also new year's eve. We're having three friends over for new year's; that's all the lockdown allows.
@pangalactic First Dungeon World:
Favorite: I'm not sure. I'm currently reading through Ironsworn and I am absolutely loving it, so it might be that one!
@disastrophe@MTBlack2567 Some Assembly Required! It was published in a Dungeon magazine back in the day. It was in issue #208, which is now available for purchase here: https://t.co/ou1WPv6FCY
@UltraViio If male customers say "if a woman can answer 5 questions back to back, it means she's smart & she's yours," it means they're dumb & misogynistic
@DailyDael Probably that time my players made a last minute alteration to their plan and instead of summoning just the adult volcanic dragon, they willingly summoned it plus its child, 50+ drakes and two undead black dragons into the cavern with them. A cavern they had themselves sealed up
