“Even if we’re 70 and we have different lives, I’ll still feel like I’m Blackpink. As corny as it sounds, I don’t think Blackpink will ever end in my heart. It’s a part of my family. You can’t deny your family.” – Jennie
"Even if I'm 50 years old, I still want to be part of BLACKPINK.” – Lisa
“I think about it. But I don’t think it will be over. Blackpink is family forever. I grew up with them. They’re a part of me. I don’t think it’ll ever end. It’s dumb of me to ever worry about that or think about it,” - Rosé
We’ve been together and relied on each other for such a long time, so we just can’t live without the others. Every one of our team is so important. I wanna be with them for my entire life.” - Jisoo
the LALISA documentary isn’t really about her leaving YG. it’s about what leaving actually cost, and what finally made staying impossible.
YG didn’t feel like a company. it felt like a strict East Asian parent. not her real parents, but YG. they decided the future, set the standard, and treated her own thoughts as optional. she didn’t need ideas. she needed to finish every assignment perfectly.
the other three (JENNIE, ROSÉ, and JISOO) didn’t feel like coworkers. they felt like siblings. same house, same pressure, same understanding no one else could have. no matter how hard that “parent” (YG) pushed them down, they still got each other first.
the documentary is like a career documentary and more like a delayed adolescence finally arriving.
