'What happens to the women the girl choristers become?' By now this should be an easy question to answer, but it isn't.
We are hugely dismayed to learn of the disbanding of @StJohnsVoices; a choir which enables talented young women (sopranos/mezzos/altos) to develop their gifts and to continue their education as equals among that choir. Opportunities for adult (18+) Sopranos at this level are too few and we have looked to @StJohnsVoices many times, for inspiration and affirmation of our own work and purpose. #singlikeagirl, yes, that's a great adage for girls, and huge strides have been made to support and enable girls to sit alongside or opposite their male peers for several decades now, but where are those looking to the future when those children will want to #singlikeawoman?

Life update: I'm moving to Baltimore in January to take up a position at Johns Hopkins University as an Associate Professor of Philosophy!!

I'm unbelievably lucky to be joining this incredible department, and thrilled to be returning to Maryland/the east coast.
