Jamaican climate change minister @pcharlesjr says keeping global warming below 1.5C gives Jamaica "half a chance" and targets should be more ambitious

Jamaica has lost another musical icon, Rainford Hugh Perry OD, affectionately known as "Lee Scratch" Perry. Our deepest condolences to his Family, Friends and his Fans.
@ECritty You did the right thing, if you did not, maybe someone else (the person who made the mistake) would have to reimburse the cost to the company. Always do the right thing, no matter what. Good Job!
We take this opportunity to congratulate our chairman @pcharlesjr on his appointment to the role of Minister of Housing, Urban Renewal, Environment and Climate Change. May your time in this post be one of great value and positive change.
Media information literacy is very important, even more so in this time of crisis. Be careful of the spaces you tie information and how you share information. To understand better what mil is Media Information Literacy, please see @AldonLCurrie thread on MIL.
Some time ago I tweeted about Media Informaton Literacy and the importance of it. Too many times we are seeing fake news being circulated even through one of our major media houses. Let’s all play our part in creating a media literate Jamaica. @UNESCO_JYN@UNESCO@pcharlesjr
For example, instead of sharing a voice message of a man who said that he is about to get his son from the U Tech because the Coronavirus was said to have infected a student there, we first check to see if the information is true instead of sending that message to our contacts.
Media Information Literacy enables people to make informed judgements as users of information and media as well as to become proper crafters of media messages in their own right.
Last Tuesday strengthened the fact that a large # of Jcans are truly illiterate on how to properly use media spaces, eg FB & what’s app. The misinformation sent about the coronavirus is further proof that Media Information Literacy is needed to combat misinformation. @UNESCO_JYN
