"gaslighting" is the most quintessential psychobabble. Intention to obtain power over the victim by deliberately persuading them to question reality is rarely present. Usually, people just feel frustrated bc they don't feel someone is giving uptake to their emotional experience.

Looking back, I was stereotypically beautiful but I absolutely could not see it. My memories of taking the photos were of how much worse I looked compared to my friends or hyperfocusing on some perceived flaw. I hated all photos of myself. I feel so heartbroken for her.
