NEW: Without three of their top-six defensemen, the Blue Jackets still couldn't find a way to use Jake Christiansen last night. It's time to end the experiment.

@TheThomahawk Thing is, the moment he tapped that puck in, I laughed. You could see exactly what he was trying to do. And it worked.

The fact that it worked is more on the Sabres than on Mathieu Olivier.

[Union and Blue @UnionAndBlue]

"He hit him 4 times before he even got his gloves off"

...no, Mathieu just doesn't wait around for the other guy to throw first. Gloves were off simultaneously. #CBJ

NOW we're back 😏

Saturdays are for the cannon 💥

[Union and Blue @UnionAndBlue]

@garyfromsloan @PMike04 I played the sport, at a relatively high level, and was always smart enough to know not to hack the toughest guy on the other team after the whistle. Especially not when he was trying to draw it in.

[Union and Blue @UnionAndBlue]

@CornerOfRink Lets face it: there is no such thing as a "fair fight", and the only "unfair fight" is the one you lose.

Moral of the story: don't slash the toughest player in the NHL, even if he pushed the puck into the empty net.
