Some key targets have been agreed as part of the peace deal in Ethiopia's Tigray region.

1. From today commanders have 7 days to orientate their forces with the aim of disarming Tigrayan combatants.

2. By Nov 25 troop disengagement must take place in four specific zones in Northern Ethiopia. Once this is complete Ethiopia must resume basic services such as comms, banking and electricity in Tigray.

3. Importantly, all non-ENDF forces (Amhara special forces and militia as well as Eritrean troops) must also leave Tigray. What happens in Western Tigray, which was annexed from the Tigray region early in the conflict, is therefore paramount.

Ethiopia's economy is the largest in all of East Africa, prime minister @AbiyAhmedAli said, citing the World Bank's latest estimation. For over a decade, Kenya had East Africa's largest economy. Ethiopia's GDP is $111.2 billion, over $1 billion more than Kenya's (WB, 2021).
