"The future of the labor movement must be focused on the next generation of workers who have passion and fresh ideas.
"They will be the heart of any growth in the years to come."
- #Teamsters General President Sean M. O'Brien #1u
Teamsters at Breakthru Beverages in Fort Myers, Jacksonville, Orlando, Pensacola, Tallahassee, and Tampa were forced on strike after the company committed unfair labor practices. Breakthru illegally terminated workers for supporting the union and continues to seek unreasonable concessions.
"Breakthru is refusing to bargain in good faith and is failing to give our members what they have rightfully earned: industry-leading wages, Teamsters health care, and secure retirement benefits," said Jeff Padellaro, Director of the Teamsters Brewery, Bakery and Soft Drink Conference. "This company created this work stoppage and must own it. They must stop their attacks on working families right now."

There is no force on Earth that can get workers what they deserve like the Teamsters can.
In the last three years, Teamsters have won the best contracts and pay increases in decades, including National Master Contracts covering hundreds of thousands of workers at UPS, Anheuser-Busch and Costco. Across diverse industries and employers of all sizes, Teamsters have consistently won record contracts throughout the O’Brien-Zuckerman administration.

This week, we introduced the #PROAct! This bipartisan bill protects the right of all workers to join a union and bargain collectively for higher wages, better benefits and safer working conditions. As a member of the @Labor_Caucus, I will never stop fighting for workers in Congress.

Delegates of the Teamsters Brewery, Bakery & Soft Drink (BB&SD) Conference reconvened again today in South Florida. The conference meets once a year to share knowledge and best practices for organizing more workers and bargaining better contracts at soft drink, alcohol, and bakery employers. Teamsters General President Sean M. O’Brien and General Secretary-Treasurer Fred Zuckerman addressed members and leaders on Tuesday.
“At companies of all kinds, whether it’s Anheuser-Busch or Bimbo Bakeries, we’re taking on Corporate America with a militancy that hasn’t been seen in generations,” O’Brien said. “No matter the industry, wherever Teamsters are, we’re fighting harder, demanding more, and winning big.”
Over the past two days, Teamsters attended seminars on contract enforcement, research, health care benefits, and strategic targeting of soft drink companies. The training courses are critical for the union’s continued success in the industry.
“We organized more than 1,500 workers into this conference last year, and we did that because we’re mobilizing together as one union,” said Jeff Padellaro, Teamsters BB&SD Conference Director. “Everyone who attends this convention is going to take what they learn, bring it back to their local union, and make it bigger, faster, and stronger.”
Teamsters delegates will close out the convention tomorrow.
