Our last session just wrapped after 12 hours of bargaining. We're still far apart on wages and fees, and we couldn't quite settle non-discrimination. We didn't even see proposals on two other issues. UIC GEO is going on strike starting Monday, April 18th.

This morning, I joined IBEW Local 1220 on the picket line to support them in their fight to maintain fair union contracts. This is not only paramount for the protection of their livelihoods & families, but also to ensure future generations have a pathway to the middle class.
@wttw *revoked* medical insurance from striking workers during a pandemic. I met a worker today, on the picket line, who is battling cancer. He no longer has health insurance. The workers at IBEW1220 are strong and their fight is righteous.
