This is a photograph of Albert Einstein with an unassuming Indian man you probably haven’t heard enough about. He spent his life working on one idea: women should be able to live with dignity and make their own choices. Thread.

@greateranglia Long shot, but is there any chance the last service out of London Liverpool Street (departed 23:58) towards Cambridge could have a really short additional stop in Shelford? My wife & I missed the 23:28 service unfortunately, so we would really warmly appreciate it
Thirty years ago, an entire section of the Northern line had to be replaced because it was under attack from acid, and hardly anyone noticed that it was happening.

For the first piece on the free @cricvizanalyst Substack, I got stuck into Kagiso Rabada v Pat Cummins.
One has 327 wickets at 22.00, the other 294 at 22.43. One's a line-and-length freak, one's a wicket-hunting strike rate gun.
So who's better?

"To fund his golfing ambitions, McIlroy's parents took on extra jobs. Gerry worked 100 hours a week; he cleaned toilets and showers at a local sports club in the mornings, served as a bartender at Holywood Golf Club from 12 to 6 pm, then returned to the sports club to work behind the bar in the evenings. Rosie looked after Rory during the day, and worked night shifts packaging rolls of tape at a 3M factory in Bangor, County Down. Due to their conflicting schedules, McIlroy's parents rarely saw each other during this period. Gerry later said: "I had no idea what else to do. I’m a working-class man. We wanted to give our only child a chance."
After finding success as a professional golfer, McIlroy bought his parents a house in 2009, and stated: "I’ll never be able to repay Mum and Dad for what they did, but at least they know they’ll never have to work another day. I’ll do whatever it takes to look after them."

Seeing the coverage of ‘Grooming gangs’ all over X today, I’m resharing this very thorough documentary which I worked on with @GBNEWS and @CDP1882 and which I would recommend you watch
Unlike many msm channels, @GBNews@CDP1882@PatrickChristys have continued to shine a spotlight on this life destroying crime for several years now, and we have worked with them frequently to share new cases, as well as with @SkyNews and @JasonFarrellSky who have done some great work too.
This crime has been largely ignored and underplayed by successive governments over decades. In so many ways it still is - but I won’t let them bury it. Only recently it was disgracefully being described as ‘a moral panic’!!!!
Ask the thousands of children abused, raped and tortured by these gangs if it was just a ‘moral panic’. Also ask them if they believe the police have treated them as the child victims they are, or social services have protected them, or @CPSUK charged the rapists with the offences for which they were guilty, or the courts given adequate sentences…. The list goes on and on. And also, to date, NOT ONE senior public figure has been held criminally accountable for their gross criminal neglect.
Thousands of victims are still fighting to heal from the trauma and damage caused to them more than 20 years after the rapes began and their childhoods were destroyed, and we at The Maggie Oliver Foundation @TMOFCharity are still supporting and fighting alongside victims/survivors on a daily basis as they continue to seek justice which is often denied.
Still makes my blood boil…..

I'd like to share some reflections on the death of a patient. I’ve thought about her a lot.
She gave me explicit consent to tweet the details of her case, about four hours before she died. Her hope was that someone might benefit from her experience.

Since the HS2 bat tunnel is back in the news (turns out it may actually kill the bats), time for one more story.
Which came first – HS2 or the bats? 🚄🦇🧵
A small but great example of this is how there’s was this huge freak out out the bee population declining but then next to no one heard about the new population recovery. 1/4
