Today I met with our trans, non-binary and gender diverse members.
So many members have written to us explaining that the updated EHRC guidance is unworkable.
I will work with our trans non-binary and gender diverse members to change the law for legal gender recognition.
Today, @AndreaEganGS has written to @EHRC Chair Dr Mary-Ann Stephenson challenging their statement, giving examples from our members where employers are withdrawing trans inclusive policies and using the code of practice guidance as the reason.

Whilst the news that UEA will be bringing forward the first part of the pay deferral, and will be matching real living wage, it's important for our members to remember that this only happened because of the pressure that you put on them to reintroduce this
Happy Birthday to UEA and UEA Unison! We spent our lunch in the square celebrating our joint birthday month. We handed our birthday card to the VC, ate some cake and shared some thoughts on what we’d like to see for the next 60 years!

Living Workers Need a Living Wage, and yet the executive team is happy to pay a majority of staff well below that.
Vote to reject their business plan and to take the action needed to #saveUEA
It's an insult to us, @UEA_UCU and @UniteUEA that this is the new VCs opening statement to the press. The issue is not that there's too many staff, it's that people were asleep at the wheel, letting the financial crisis happen and then avoiding all accountability for it
According to who do we have too many staff? The executive team who are wanting to make the cuts? The students who rely on staff? The staff body that has been panicked and worried for months? Or the guy thats been in post for just over 5 hours?

🚨 BREAKING: UNISON members at the following institutions have voted YES for strike action over pay. We'll be meeting with branch activists soon to discuss how to coordinate our action. #RisingTogetherForBetterPay
A perfect summary of where we are at. Still waiting for any sign of what is coming round the corner, with everyone just stuck in waiting mode until it gets fully announced
It’s now been almost 4 months since UEA leaders announced they were looking to make a “significant and unpalatable” number of compulsory redundancies after posting a significant financial deficit.

We're finally back from the twitter dungeons! After a lot of wrestling with lost passwords, twitter's lack of support and numerous false hopes, we've set up a new account
