🚨 UEFA ‘leak’ points to lengthy Man City Euro ban
- UEFA said close to a 7-10 year European ban
- Would cover Champions League, Europa and Conference League
- Ban tied to City's financial doping charges
- Commission found £900m boost via "sham" sponsorships
- City deny wrongdoing, cite "irrefutable" Abu Dhabi evidence
- Panel already dismissed that evidence as concocted
- Maguire says points hit "has to be" double figures
- Compares case to Everton and Forest's single breaches
- Estimates total cost could exceed a billion pounds
- Appeal outcome still needed before sanctions confirmed
Manchester United used to be a family, all together, with occasional fall-outs but mainly focused on pulling in the same direction. United. But they now seem a dysfunctional family with fault-lines and tensions all over. Fans v Glazers, increasingly Ineos. Player v owners. The country's biggest club being held back through issues of leadership and expertise. A mess. The Lisandro Martinez situation highlights this.
The forthright defender has now apologised for his unscheduled public review of recruitment. The mood music from Carrington seems to be a focus on “moving on” and Martinez himself says in his Instagram post about “this situation behind us” now. It’s good the air has been cleared. United need unity and Martinez for the trip to Elland Road. But the “situation” can’t be behind them because...
1, Martinez’s comments were right. We can debate time and place for their airing, and whether all team-mates were in agreement, but not the truth. Recruitment has not been good enough. United should be thinking bigger, acting bigger. As they once did.
Midfield did need addressing last summer, especially with Casemiro going. Carlos Baleba is a good buy, what they needed, a defensive screen and legs in midfield, but the money spent on Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans could have been spent on strengthening defence. Martinez’s own occasional failings, losing out to Solanke, highlight that.
2, director of football Jason Wilcox knows that one of his senior players doesn’t rate him. The "situation" also reignites debate about the loss of such an experienced operator as Dan Ashworth.
3, Martinez will be linked with a move away (again). More headlines incoming in January.
4, contracts expiring in 2027 of three senior defenders, Martinez (option), Harry Maguire (option) and Luke Shaw so the defensive “situation” becomes even more pressing.
5, Even if Martinez's comments supported Michael Carrick – ie, board should back him with a stronger squad after a promising end to last season - they certainly can’t have helped a head coach under pressure. Martinez owes Carrick a strong, mistake-free performance against Leeds United.
6, the “situation” definitely won’t be behind them because Leeds fans will doubtless sing about Manchester United being divided.
7, when Manchester United fans sing/cheer Martinez’s name it will be depicted as a criticism of the board. The "situation" continues. #MUFC
Since spending £6.5m in their first summer under the Glazers, #mufc have under-invested when they’re in the Champions League and spent more when they’re out of it. That’s continued under Ratcliffe

You Could Just Arrange Them By Yourself Right?
What’s the Difference Between Selecting A Default & Arranging Them Yourselves
jumlahnya 26 orang, dipilih lewat seleksi prabowo bersama orang dekatnya
🚨 Manchester United have fined Lisandro Martínez as punishment and consider the case now closed.
Lisandro spoke to Carrick and the directors to clarify the situation, apologize then now moving on.
🎥 More: https://t.co/ZRzpjnk5ft
Let's not get this twisted. If you listen to Martinez he actually backs Carrick and doesn't out his current teammates. He states we needed more players for a more demanding season. Pure deflection to take the heat of who he really called out = Wilcox and the owners
🚨🗣️José Mourinho on Lisandro Martínez's comments.
🗣️“It's always the same there [Manchester United]. Someone speaks up, and instead of addressing the situation, they attack the person. It's always been the same there.
“I try not to speak on matters like this because they don't concern me.
“I remember when I came in there, everything was not right. I tried to speak to the board, and still, nothing changed. I did a press conference, and that became the main target of why I wasn't supposed to be at the club. I remember Ronaldo [Cristiano], too. The same thing.
“Now, I'm not surprised it's happening to anyone there [Martinez], and I don't think there's going to be change in the next 10 years if they keep eliminating anyone who comes to tell the truth.
“You cannot solve a problem by silencing the people who speak about it. Until they start listening instead of attacking, the same problems will keep coming back.”
🚨 Lisandro Martínez, not the only player at Manchester United with that view of the situation at club level.
Man United assessing possible sanction/fine for Licha, as @lauriewhitwell reports.
Out of contract in June 2027 but club option until 2028.

🚨 Nani on Lisandro Martinez publicly criticising Manchester United’s hierarchy:
“I don’t understand why people are so shocked by what Lisandro said. You want ambitious players at Manchester United, but when one of them shows he’s unhappy with the direction of the club, suddenly he should keep quiet?
He’s a professional. He has to take responsibility for his performances. But being professional doesn’t mean you stop caring about what is happening around you.
Let me explain something.
Even playing football in the streets, we understood this. You’d turn up, look across and see the other team had brought the best boys in the neighbourhood.
You’d look at your own team and say, ‘Wait. We knew they were coming. Why didn’t we call anyone?’
Someone would tell you, ‘Don’t worry, just play.’
Of course you play. But you’re already thinking, ‘So I’m supposed to beat all of them by myself?’
Now imagine feeling that way at Manchester United.
I remember training with Cristiano, Rooney, Tévez, Scholes, Giggs. Sometimes you’d do something you thought was fantastic, and before you could enjoy it, somebody else would do something even better.
You had no choice but to improve.
If Cristiano scored a brilliant goal, Wayne wanted one. If Wayne was flying in training, you wanted to show him something. And if you weren’t sharp, there was somebody waiting who would happily take your place.
That competition was healthy. It wasn’t always comfortable, believe me. But you arrived every morning knowing that if you wanted to play on Saturday, you had to earn it.
And when Saturday came, you walked onto the pitch differently.
You looked to your left, you looked to your right, and you saw players who could win the game in five different ways. You weren’t standing there hoping one person would save everybody.
You were almost smiling before kick-off.
Because you’re thinking, ‘How are they going to stop all of us?’
That’s what people forget about team spirit. It isn’t only players hugging each other after a goal. It’s the confidence you get from knowing the man next to you is just as hungry, just as capable, and just as determined to win.
That confidence changes how you run, how you press, how you take risks. Even when you make a mistake, you want the ball again.
Now look at Lisandro with Argentina. Watch his body language. He plays with conviction. He’s surrounded by players who know what they want, who trust each other, who believe they can beat anybody.
I’m not saying he becomes a different footballer when he puts on the United shirt. I’m saying the environment around a footballer matters enormously.
You can be a very good player and still feel frustrated when your rivals keep strengthening while you’re waiting for your club to take the next step.
That frustration can affect your football. You’re human.
People will say, ‘Well, he gets paid to play.’
Yes. And he plays to win.
Those two things are not the same.
I don’t think Lisandro came out of that interview because he wanted attention. I think he looked around and wondered why a club with Manchester United’s resources and history keeps finding itself in the same conversation.
I’d rather have a player angry that United aren’t competing with the best than one comfortable finishing behind them.
But he must back it up on the pitch. All of them must.
And the people making decisions must match that ambition.
The supporters deserve to see United walking out of the tunnel smiling again. Not because they’ve been told to be positive, but because every player knows what the others are capable of.
When we played, there were matches where I looked at the players beside me and almost felt sorry for the opposition.
That’s the feeling Manchester United should be trying to bring back.
And I think that’s the feeling Lisandro is asking for.”
🚨🗣️ Paul Scholes on Lisandro Martinez criticizing the Manchester united board:
"For me he is brave and wants the best for this club because if he doesn't wants to win with united, He wouldn't have criticized them on air"
"Some former united players are saying he was wrong to do that but, these former united players don't really care about the club because how can you see what is going on and tell a player that He is wrong to criticize the owners and management"
"Lisandro Martinez has shown how brave he is and I will forever respect him for that"
