He began brilliantly and lifted them from struggling to almost promotion, but then they turned average the next 2 years.
I’m afraid the same will happen at Utd but I hope I’m wrong

With Carrick, there’s nothing drastic to adapt to, and long term that won’t function, like with Ole

What I look for in a manager for Utd is signals for long term consistency. Carrick didn’t achieve that in Middlesbrough.
I put this seasons success down to him putting right players in the right situations

Carrick didn’t perform in Middlesbrough. This season he’s relied on individual quality. Great interim manager, but won’t work when we have 3 competitions
