If UVM's highest priority is educating students... then why does it budget for 26 VPs and bonuses to coaches while cutting educators? Asking for all of Vermont.

Prelock is highlighting UVM's priority of educating Vermonters, she says this is an important part of UVM's position as a land grant university, founded with the goal of educating the state's young people. And talking about her excitement about the partnership with CCV.
#BTV city councilors make $5k/year.
#VT legislators make ~$15k/year.
These people make the laws we live by. And yet, the #UVM president makes over half a million dollars a year, topping out as the most highly paid public employee in #Vermont.

Enrollment is up. Grants + aid are raining on higher ed. Faculty, staff, and students have risen to literally unprecedented challenges despite endless morale-sinks from the Garimella administration.
So why does he cut education, not administration? 🤔
Garimella can't budget.
There is no reason #UVM should be losing money.
And don't say "but but but pandemic". Enrollment is up. State and federal aid have been sky high.
If Garimella says there's money problems then then he can't budget. And that's the problem.
Garimella's budgeting strategy is this:
1) Keep his and all the exec pay ridiculous.
2) Pretend there's no $550+ million endowment.
3) Ignore enrollment numbers
4) Skip over execs to Arts & Sci, the library, etc, and force cuts to educators.
5) Cry to the legislature for money.
Hey #vtpoli - is this really how you want the Vermont higher education brand to be managed? By an exclusive, wealthy, inaccessible, and undemocratic group? It's not a good look. #btv#vted#highered
Trustees meeting at #UVM today. Unlike many other universities the public can't watch the meeting live and there is no recording to view later. You can dial in by phone. We requested accessible meetings but were denied. https://t.co/8Gxh1ejQkd
@Tryn2BKind@resistbot It's the University of Vermont. This RB targets the Vermont leg and most Vermont residents would know that. Thanks for your feedback, tho.
