Teaching in a phone-free school has been better than I imagined. Students have more sustained focused, produce higher quality work, make genuine connections with peers, and power struggles greatly reduced when phones, โarenโt a thing we do in schoolโ. #vted
Today, I am also announcing that we will be taking action to ban cell phones in our schools.
Screens are negatively impacting our learning environments, drawing students' attention away from their classes, and becoming a barrier for teachers to do their jobs โ no more.

The last time the water was as high as it is now in Montpelier, the images were black and white and looked like this. These were from the #flood of 1927. Very few people alive today have seen a worse flood in Vermont's capital. #VTwx

The Winooski River level there is about 4 feet lower than Irene's crest. It's still rising a bit, but is nearing crest within a couple hours.
