DEI doesn’t exist in the World Cup, or in top level pro sports at all. Sports is the ultimate meritocracy, the best players make the most money and pursuit of excellence is the entire goal. Diversity, equity and inclusion are nonexistent. It’s pure merit. Otherwise it would suck.

Why don’t we see this same level of intolerance when players beat the shit out of women in their lives
Or when they drive recklessly and endanger everyone around them
Or when they’re picked up on gun charges
Or…

Darryn Peterson said a new round of bloodwork and other tests after the season led his doctors to conclude that his use of high doses of creatine led to mysterious and sometimes debilitating cramping.
A couple observations:
(1) Democrats want so badly to be oppressed, modern day MLKs when what we’re dealing with is spilled milk compared to past issues
(2) what a shame that black people now have to do what literally every other American has to do if they live in an area dominated by an ideology they don’t believe in: either move somewhere else or accept being a political minority
Steelers fans I know the Rapoport story on Makai Lemon isn’t a great look but stay with me for a second:
If you think about it, it was obvious Philly was going to go Lemon at 20 with the AJ Brown news dropping the other day. It also seems pretty obvious Steelers would be interested in making a big splash with a pick like Lemon
So once the Cowboys started talking to Philly about making the trade at 20 why wouldn’t the Cowboys GM immediately call Pittsburgh and say “hey I’m trading this pick to Philly unless you give me more.” The Cowboys clearly did not do that based on Pittsburgh being on the phone with Lemon, Pittsburgh was blindsided
Now why would the Cowboys not contact Pittsburgh to try to drive the price up when that’s obviously the rational thing to do? And why would the Cowboys trade with Philly, a division rival, if Lemon was a massive impact player? It’s seems to me there are only 2 options:
A) the Cowboys GM (Jerry Jones) is lazy and irresponsible
OR
B) the Cowboys know or strongly suspect that Lemon is a bust, so they WANTED him to go to their division rival and were willing to forgo extra compensation from the Steelers to make that happen
Ladder bracket makes more sense…postseason seeding is the incentive to do well during MVC regular season
But seeding means next to nothing when you’re on a neutral court in a conference with parity
Maybe Belmont still loses but should be more reward for a 26-5 regular season
Belmont’s loss is the reason why the Sun Belt (and other leagues) are going to the ladder bracket.
Not that it would’ve kept Belmont from losing, but it’s one less opportunity for this to happen to the team that had been your league’s best for months
