Mari, in my opinion, both you and the person I'm addressing have demonstrated some seriously questionable judgment...
You've allowed minors into spaces where your friends have shared sexually inappropriate artwork, and I find that deeply concerning...
As for her, even during the short time she spent in my server, we were hesitant to keep her around because of some of the behavior we had already witnessed.
What concerns me most is that I genuinely question whether you're capable of handling the responsibilities that come with being a moderator. Moderation requires maturity, consistency, accountability, and the ability to make reasonable decisions without allowing personal conflicts to influence them.
And what's particularly troubling is that some of these concerns haven't just come from people who disagree with you. Even individuals within your own circle have reportedly spoken about your behavior.
At some point, you have to ask yourself why so many people are questioning your judgment. You can dismiss criticism all you want, but that doesn't automatically make the concerns disappear. If you're going to hold a position of authority within a community, you should be prepared to answer legitimate questions about how you've handled that responsibility.
π¨ BREAKING NEWS: ASTRO BOY FANDOM EDITION π¨
Good evening, ladies and gentlemen. I'm your host, LongStrike, and welcome back to another episode of What on Earth Is Happening in the Astro Boy Fandom?
Our top story tonight...
Controversy is brewing over the moderation of the Astro Boy subreddit, and moderator Mari is finding herself at the center of it.
Several community members have reportedly contacted our newsroom, otherwise known as my direct messages, expressing frustration over recent bans.
Some claim they were accused of involvement with inappropriate material involving minors. These are serious allegations, and I cannot independently verify the circumstances surrounding their bans.
As for yours truly, LongStrike, my own ban stemmed from disagreements over interpretations of fictional characters, not accusations involving such material.
But wait, ladies and gentlemen. There's more!
Questions have also emerged regarding the moderation standards applied across different Astro Boy communities.
I personally witnessed minors being present in a Discord community where sexually explicit artwork involving fictional characters was shared.
This raises serious questions about age restrictions, moderation practices, and whether appropriate safeguards were being enforced.
Meanwhile, concerns have been raised about sexually explicit fan artwork involving characters such as Dr. Tenma and Stanford Pines from Gravity Falls.
The question being asked tonight is simple:
Are moderation standards being applied consistently, or are personal friendships and disagreements influencing who gets punished and who gets a free pass?
ποΈ And now, a message directly to Mari.
Mari, if you're watching tonight's broadcast, I encourage you to address these concerns publicly and explain your moderation decisions.
Being a moderator isn't about winning arguments or controlling opinions. It's about maintaining a community where rules are transparent, consistent, and fairly enforced.
And if members believe those standards aren't being upheld, they have every right to ask questions.
This has been LongStrike, reporting live from the increasingly chaotic world of the Astro Boy fandom.
Stay tuned, folks. Apparently, even a fictional robot boy can't escape internet politics.
ποΈ Back to you in the studio.
I'm convinced that if half the Astro Boy fandom got into a voice call with me, we wouldn't even make it two minutes before somebody started questioning every life decision that led them to that moment. ππ
I'm talking complete psychological defeat...
You'd enter that call ready to argue and leave wondering if your internet provider offers emotional compensation. π
And believe me, I've got a whole lot more to say to some of you. The only thing stopping me from opening my mouth is the fact that Discord hasn't introduced a hazard pay program for voice calls yet. π
Some of you are so deep inside your own heads that reality could knock on your front door, ring the doorbell, and send you a certified letter, and you'd still pretend nobody was home.
They say you can't change someone's beliefs by arguing on the internet, and maybe they're right.
But reality has a funny way of teaching lessons that arguments never could. My only concern is that some of you won't figure that out until you've wasted years of your lives defending nonsense that never mattered in the first place.
And trust me, that's one hell of a price to pay for winning an argument on Discord. π
I've been thinking about how strange life can be.
Sometimes we find ourselves surrounded by people who share the same dreams, the same passions, and the same love for something beautiful.
For a while, it feels like those moments could last forever.
But time changes things.
Friendships fade.
People misunderstand one another. Words are exchanged, bridges are burned, and eventually, the people who once illuminated our lives become distant memories...
And yet, somewhere in the aftermath, we still remember the warmth.
I think that's what makes The Midnight's Afterglow so beautiful to me.
It's about learning to swim through the things that once threatened to pull us under. It's about remembering the light without allowing ourselves to become trapped in the darkness that followed.
We cannot turn back time. We cannot make people stay.
And sometimes, no matter how much we wish things had been different, we have to accept that certain chapters of our lives have ended.
But I still believe in the goodness of people.
I still believe that even the most wounded hearts can learn to love again.
And perhaps the most important thing we can do is refuse to let the world take away our own hearts of gold.
Because even when the flames fade, the warmth they left behind can still remind us of who we wanted to become.

@VanessaSOSCuba@HOTMAGAX I'm a Christian I'm just saying this to be funny towards you...
I really invite you to go to church and find people around you...
And if not start slow and just give my God one day...
I promise things will look different...
Mari, I'm not entirely sure what you're getting at here.
I don't know if X's translator is malfunctioning or if something's getting lost in translation, but these readings are all over the place.
I'm starting to understand why the Frieza Force scouters kept exploding. π
Seriously though, what exactly are you trying to say here?
Because I'm getting some pretty questionable readings. π
@CranioDeDragao , there's something I genuinely struggle to understand about your perspective...
You've accused me of sexism, yet you frequently portray Dr. Tenma, a character you consider your fictional husband, in scenarios that seem to reduce him to little more than a romantic or sexual fantasy...
Now, I have no issue with people having their own interpretations of fictional characters...
That's part of what makes fandom interesting...
However, I find it difficult to reconcile your criticism of my views with the way you choose to portray this character...
Dr. Tenma is an incredibly complicated individual, shaped by grief, ambition, guilt, and his relationship with his son. I believe there's far more to his character than these portrayals acknowledge...
You're entitled to your interpretation, just as I'm entitled to mine. But I think we should be able to discuss those differences without immediately accusing one another of sexism.
One thing's for sure...
If I ever stream this game, I'm avoiding those parts of the city like the plague. Not because I'm planning to do anything crazy, but because I KNOW how the GTA Online player base operates.
I'm not getting canceled over some random player's unhinged behavior that I happened to witness live on stream. π
I've been hearing rumors about Pride parades potentially appearing in GTA, and I have some concerns about how Rockstar would handle that representation.
Let's remember something important. Grand Theft Auto is a parody of American society.
Rockstar has spent decades exaggerating political beliefs, social movements, corporations, and just about every aspect of modern culture...
My concern isn't necessarily the inclusion of LGBTQ+ representation.
It's how that representation would be handled in a universe where practically everything is subject to satire...
Would Rockstar exaggerate the stereotypes surrounding these communities like they do with everyone else?
Or would they make certain characters untouchable, perhaps even invulnerable to players?
And knowing the GTA player base, if Rockstar did implement those restrictions, I can almost guarantee people would start looking for glitches and exploits to get around them...
I think this creates an interesting dilemma for Rockstar...
How do you introduce representation into a game built around unrestricted satire without making it feel like certain subjects are suddenly off limits?
I don't think representation itself is the problem. I think the real challenge is making it feel natural within the world Rockstar has created, while allowing the satire to remain consistent.
Of course, these are just rumors for now, but I'm genuinely curious how Rockstar would approach something like this.
One thing I genuinely miss about my earlier days in the Astro Boy fandom was being able to approach people and simply share my thoughts, ideas, and ambitions for these characters. I used to do that with quite a few people, and honestly, I'd love to return to those kinds of conversations.
Mari, I'll give you credit for something. You were genuinely an interesting person to talk to.
Even though I could tell you were somewhat hesitant around me from the very beginning, I still enjoyed our conversations...
I'm not going to lie, it was always fun to randomly show up in your DMs with something funny, an observation about a character, or some ridiculous idea I'd been thinking about.
That's the kind of interaction I miss. Not arguments, not disagreements, and certainly not unnecessary drama. Just two people who share an interest in something, exchanging ideas and occasionally making each other laugh.
I would genuinely like to get back to that, if you're ever comfortable with it.
I don't believe this statement truly does justice to the complexity of your fictional husbandβs character.
You and I both know that he is a far more nuanced and multifaceted individual than this portrayal suggests.
And frankly, I believe the same can be said about your own character.
There is far more depth to both of you than our statements acknowledge...
Something else worth considering is that we've actually seen Daleks fight Cybermen in Doctor Who, particularly during the 2006 episode "Doomsday."
Now, those Cybermen still possessed organic brains inside their mechanical bodies, whereas Astro Boy, at least in my AU, is entirely mechanical.
But here's what interests me. Dalek extermination weapons have demonstrated that they're capable of destroying Cybermen, not just ordinary biological organisms.
That makes me wonder whether their weapons have some kind of electromagnetic effect, almost like an EMP, capable of disrupting or destroying electronic systems.
I'm not saying that's necessarily how Dalek weaponry canonically functions, but it's something I'd love to investigate.
Because if a Dalek's weapon could interfere with Astro's internal electronics, even a single direct hit might be devastating. And that's before we even consider whether his systems could withstand the sheer energy of the blast.
I really want to explore this scientifically rather than just assume Astro would win because he's incredibly powerful.
I have to approach this like I'm 6 years old...
A part of me would be happy to see this at a young age...
But now..
No...
I really feel like they're going to butcher a lot of the aspects that come from Doctor Who in this but hey it's a children's show...
And Hell the show has been doing that to itself for a while now...
A whole new generation of #DoctorWho fans are about to begin their own adventure! π
