Las estructuras no se diseñan ni calculan para no desplomarse en caso de terremotos, se diseñan y calculan para soportar lo suficiente como para permitir a sus ocupantes salir de ahí.

Que un edificio se mantenga en pie después de un terremoto, no significa que sea seguro entrar o acercarse a él. Si ese edificio presenta grietas en forna de "X", hay altas posibilidades de que la estructura se encuentre en grado crítico de estabilidad.

Normalmente, aunque no siempre, los muros que presentan "X" después de un sismo, no son muros que "carguen" al edificio. Los muros incluso podrían desprenderse totalmente y el edificio seguir de pie pero, esa sola herida en "X" en muros significa que la estructura principal, la que sí carga al edificio, pasó por alto estrés y deformaciones severas. Por lo tanto, todo el inmueble está en fase de resistencia vital para permitir a sus ocupantes alejarse. ¡Aléjese pues!

Se me hace difícil encontrar algún otro régimen, en cualquier país y en cualquier momento de la historia, que haya robado cantidades tan enormes como las robadas por el chavismo y que, además, haya acumulado una deuda tan grande como la que hoy pesa sobre Venezuela. Todo ello mientras una población sometida a la opresión pasaba hambre y cerca del 30% de los venezolanos se veía obligado a huir del país.

La devastación causada por el chavismo (el de Hugo Chávez, Nicolás Maduro y Delcy y Jorge Rodríguez) ha sido el mayor flagelo de nuestra historia y, sin duda, uno de los más grandes de toda la historia latinoamericana.

Poner fin a esta barbarie es un deber humano.

Their argument is simple: The pie should have been for everybody, but Elon Musk took it all.

But would the pie still be there for everyone else to share if, as in the first picture, there was no Elon Musk? This is an easy thing to answer, because Elon made his money by entering a mature industry -- auto manufacturing -- with many established legacy players around the world. They are the pie that would exist in Musk's absence.

Musk built an electric car that can replace internal combustion engines while they did not. He built a network of charging stations while they did not. And the reason he is the world's richest man is that the market now values Tesla more than the entire legacy auto industry combined, because his company has built this incredible sci-fi future tech while they're all stuck in the past.

He has a lot of pie because the pie did not exist before him and he invented pie.

Socialists cannot acknowledge this, because they do not believe an individual can be great. To them, we are all interchangeable units within a collective, and different outcomes can only arise from systemic unfairness since we are all the same.

The truth is, some people make pie and some people don't, and when society dictates that everyone should get the same amount of pie whether they make pie or not, people who could make pie generally don't bother because the state will confiscate it, and the state fails to develop the capacity to make enough pie for everyone in the absence of a private incentive, and there ends up not being enough pie to go around.
