7. It's a film, not a poem. That being said, I do enjoy Emily Wilson's dissertation about Nolan's adaptation, which is loosely based on her English interpretation of Homer's poem. And well, no sex is indeed a deal breaker for me.

The Odyssey is good, just good, not great. Some notes are following:

1. Nolan remains too clean on blood and nudity. As a story based on wars and marital conflicts, somehow the absence of both makes itself more surreal, which is contradicts Nolan's realism filmmaking

6. I do enjoy the real journey of Odysseus. The scary darkness of the cave. The realism of the surreal animal shapeshifting. The minimalism design of monsters and gods. The time itself, symbolised by the dog.
