Every time during Padma awards, we see folks from absolute humble backgrounds, many of them really old, come to the Rashtrapati Bhavan and receive them.

Often, when these awardees are so old that they need wheelchair, sometimes they get up to receive the award, even when they don't really need to, because they hold the President's post sacred.

The First Citizen, the Supreme Commander of the Indian Armed Forces. Sometimes, these old men and women also break protocols and end up giving blessings to the President, like they would to a daughter.

The President, too, often breaks the protocol and walks up to the awardees, keeping in mind their old age. She also does not seem too bothered by the breaking of the protocol.

It just makes me so happy. The absolute core Indianness in these people is what makes India great.

But Arjuna's valour was always for lokopakara. He knowingly broke the vow the brothers had around Draupadi and "disturbed her and Yudhishthira" to retrieve his weapons just so that he could chase robbers stealing cows of a Brahmana. Went on voluntary exile even after serving a larger cause.

He did not keep his knowledge to himself and taught it when he found worthy seekers (eg, Satyaki, Pradyumna)

He served Gods by fighting Nivatakavachas and Kalakeyas

He was super conscious about his arsenal and was the most responsible user of Divyastras. Seldom went beyond Agneya, Aindra and Vaaruna unless there was a dire need.

He was the one compassionate warrior who sensed the fatigue of even enemy soldiers on the night of 14th and proposed the foot soldiers at least get a break till moonrise.

Karna's skill in fact bordered on becoming lokakantaka when he used Shabdabhedi, albeit without knowing, on a poor brahmana's cow, and served only his egoistic causes. He sat out the first ten days of war over a rating and ranking ego issue with Bhishma.

In the modern parlance of growth mindset vs fixed mindset, we have these two guys acting as great examples.

India has now attained criticality in a commercial, 500MW power producing, fast breeder nuclear reactor.

(We had experimental one before, but this is a big commercial one that can produce power.)

Criticality means reactor is running by itself without needing to keep re-igniting it. Breeder means it makes more fissile fuel than it uses.

Nobody wanted to give India such tech. Because these reactors can create nuclear fissile material. So India created the tech itself in spite of sanctions.

Only Russia has this tech (true commerical fast breeder reactor) running. US, UK, France say they have given up on this. China has one prototype based on Russian tech but it is not yet commercial.

India has refused to put its Fast Breeder Reactor program under international scrutiny. It is a big, big, no HUGE thing for India's energy independence.

But, as usual, most Indians won't know how big as we don't play up our achievements. I was recently amused seeing some posts by Gen-Z advising Indian govt to go for Thorium cycle etc in some condescending tone.

Because India has been on it quietly for sometime. And this reactor going critical now and commercial soon means it can sustain itself for infinity. This cuts India's imports of Uranium. And paves the way for Thorium based reactors as well. (Stage 3 of India's nuclear program, we just passed Stage 2 with PM's post).

Also, what PM didn't say is, this reactor can help generate some 100+kg of weapons grade Plutonium -with which India can make many warheads and expand nuclear stockpile if it wishes so.

But India will never do that, you know, as India is a very peaceful nation promoting world wide nuclear disarmament ;)

@mxtaverse Indore had a very successful Bus Rapid Transit System (BRTS), which is now demolished.

I-buses ran on a dedicated track, different from normal traffic, was super fast and so preferred by citizens. This track was otherwise used by Ambulances and for VIP movement.

@DealsDhamaka Had the same issue. But people in contact were actually joining the app and somehow it was not being updated in mine. They could see my profile, but I couldn't see theirs.

Uninstalling and Installing the app again resynced the contacts and I can now see them.
