You know its an ad because the triple dot menu is different for ads/ real posts. See the menu for a real post (first image), ad post (second image), and a marked ad
@studiolaaya It is great. It also helps you see what you were thinking about in the past, see a/b design questions, and you can put some of this stuff in the credits as a "reward" for the players
@Authw8 Helldivers 2 does it great.
You get weapons with infinite ammo, but you need to replace the heat sink if you shoot for too long and "melt" the heatsink. And you get less heatsinks than magazine based weapons get, and replacing a heatsink is often slower than replacing a magazine
@ankkala Its somewhat rare to write your own pure functions in programming though. At least in my xp as mostly gameplay programmer
Usually you use libraries for your pure function needs, or you can put all of your pure functions in a static utilities class of sorts.
to be fair I ended up putting more like 600 hours total into that one post-release. At least this one won't be early access. The release is the end (other than bug fixes).
I released my last game on steam at ~300 development hours. I didn't count this one as closely, but I estimate it to be 1500-2500 hours. Release is only weeks away.
Scary.
