Un-PAC organizers from @unpacmu and across WV want to know: why didn't @SenManchin vote to pass his own bill, the #FreedomToVote John Lewis Act? https://t.co/PBO8PsCzei
Em (an organizer at @unpacmu): “I really wanted to make sure that I could go (on #HungerStrike4Democracy) and make sure that I had everything prepared because I am tired of politicians not taking young people seriously and not putting the people first before money.”
Un-PAC organizers in West Virginia have been at the forefront of the campaign to fix our broken democracy: they knocked THOUSANDS of doors, and many went on #HungerStrike4Democracy to call on the Senate to pass the #FreedomToVote John Lewis Act. https://t.co/hThKIzmRBs
In this video, (March 25th, 2021) @SenRobertsWV refers to his Black constituents who were calling in demanding for the passing of the CROWN Act as “angry” and “narrow minded”,

What is the CROWN Act and why is it crucial for West Virginia Senators to pass it? A thread.
CROWN stands for “Creating a Respectful and Open Workplace for Natural Hair” and was created back in 2019 by Dove and the CROWN Coalition; in response to Dove’s C.R.O.W.N Research Study
@MUParthenon, thank you for reporting important news about the brave Marshall University students that have been on the forefront of our fight for democracy!
WV students want to see our state succeed, but to succeed, we first need voting rights reform.

@SenCapito, you made a bad call last Wednesday when you voted against protecting our democracy. Young voters in West Virginia will remember your cowardice and your failure to protect our freedom to vote.
@Sen_JoeManchin@kyrstensinema, young people across West Virginia are extremely disappointed that you failed to prioritize our democracy over an arcane Senate rule, despite your promises to protect our freedom to vote. We will remember your failure.
We've been on our second #HungerStrike4Democracy for ONE WEEK. It's hard to get out of bed and even harder to walk. Senators, you have the power to end this if you merely pass the #FreedomToVote John Lewis Act.
27 brave individuals put everything on the line to tell the senate how desperately we need the #freedomtovote John Lewis Act. Make the call to your senators TODAY and let them know you’re paying attention to the #HungerStrike4Democracy
🗣️Show us what democracy looks like? THIS is what democracy looks like!🗣️
On DAY 6 of our #HungerStrike4Democracy, we were among the 29 nonviolent demonstrators ARRESTED while pleading the Senate pass the #FreedomToVote John Lewis Act before it's too late.
Kyla, age 23, took her #HungerStrike4Democracy to jail today to show her Senators the urgency of passing the #FreedomToVote John Lewis Act. Kyla previously went on hunger strike for 15 DAYS in December, and is now on DAY 6 of her relaunched strike.
Rylee, aged 22 and a proud West Virginian, brought her #HungerStrike4Democracy to jail today to plead that her senators restore the right to vote to over 6 million Americans who are currently disenfranchised from a former felony conviction by passing the #FreedomToVote JLA.
Joseline, age 27 and on her second hunger strike, got arrested and took her #HungerStrike4Democracy to jail because she believes that our democracy should work for all of us, no matter who you are or what your political beliefs are.
