I‘ve worked to the point of making myself mentally&physically ill, just so I can keep myself going. I was 6 months too late for the NHS bursary, I‘ve had to request each year a tuition&maintenance loan. This is NOT fair. What about us Sept17-Sept20? @WeStudentNurse@WeMHNurses
@StNurseProject Why not wipe £5k of the student debt of those training now and since the scrapping of bursary and funding or you’ll just alienate several cohorts of students, newly and recently qualified with over £50k worth of debt it’s a big middle finger to 1000s of us
@StNurseProject It's a small start. But rightly or wrongly student nurses are working in placement (I know not in numbers etc) so should be treated as such. So pay them fair wage. The drop out rate of student nurses is huge. Partly due to working bank shifts AND doing placements to fund course.
Very proud of my colleague for speaking up ,
If they brought the full bursary back in place, will they write off myself and my fellow colleagues 1st , 2nd and 3rd year student debt??

1 hour to go until tonight's tweetchat on the Francis report. What has been the impact upon the nursing profession?
See you at 8pm!
