Ya mikirlah anjir, kita aja pasti marah banget kalau pacaran terus dimanfaatin doang, begitu juga rakyat Papua marah lah punya tanah-gunung-hutan-laut sekaya itu tapi kok bisa ada 100.000 lebih pengungsi, gizi buruk, korban rasisme, dan pembunuhan terus terjadi.

Fiction can actually improve your critical thinking. Lewat cerita fiksi, kita diajak buat imagine berbagai kemungkinan, analyze setiap keputusan karakter, lalu compare situasinya dengan dunia nyata.
Kamu jadi kepikiran, "What if this happened in real life?" Kira-kira problem solving-nya bakal sama nggak? Apa orang-orang akan mengambil keputusan yang berbeda? Atau justru ada solusi yang lebih baik?
Jadi, baca fiction itu bukan cuma buat hiburan. It also trains you to think critically, see different perspectives, and understand people a little better.
This is why travelling IS political and I wish more people would realize it. Wdym an outsider cuma perlu 2/3 minggu untuk menjelajahi setengah negara ini, meanwhile we as a local who was born and raised here, probably won't even have that chance.
