Oakley Capital bought @cPanel last year so our licensing costs will be rising from $13.75/mo to $104.95/mo with zero additional value to our users. Should we switch to a different panel? Oakley owns @Plesk and @solusvm too so they're not good alternatives.
We're now a verified Brave Creator so you can tip us BAT now. If you haven't tried the Brave browser out you should--it's built on Chrome but with lots of cool security, privacy, and ad-blocking features baked in. We'll also get a bonus. Here’s the link: https://t.co/nc3DnTJ429
We've always been big fans of @Cloudflare but this is truly amazing. This takes our own low-markup domain promise and moves it to the next level. With Unshadowed we only charge our wholesale price + card processing fee rounded up the nearest dollar. Cloudflare is doing it right!
So much fail @PayPal. You hurt your legitimate customer and ignored the obvious fraud I reported. Take a lesson from @Stripe and make this process suck less. Customers have no incentive to proactively report issues to you. PayPal makes it very hard to do the right thing.
So not only did @PayPal limit my account for reporting a suspicious payment made to me, or listen to me at all over the phone, to make things worse they determined the payment wasn't fraudulent because they couldn't locate the transaction itself?
Later, I finally get an email response from @PayPal. "We've completed our review of your unauthorized activity case, and we’ve determined there was no unauthorized use. We're unable to locate the transaction."
I tried explaining to @PayPal support that I already had the account limits removed, but he continued to ignore me and insist that I had to go through a bunch of account security nonsense despite the fact that this wasn't even about my account at all. Eventually I hung up.
After changing my @PayPal account password for no reason they lift the account limitations and I call PayPal support. The support rep keeps telling me that I have to go through a bunch of account security questions and other tasks to lift the account limits.
Then, for reporting fraudulent payments made TO my @PayPal account, "for your safety" they locked down my account. Yep. My account was fine but just by making the report they lock my account down until I sufficiently satisfied them that I had re-secured it.
When you report a fraudulent payment made TO you on @PayPal, it's entirely different story. They opened a case and promised to get back to me within 9 days. 9 days?! And theres's no way to give them the details of the phish or anything else.
.@PayPal fail: a story. On Aug 15 I received a payment for $5 to start a hosting account for the domain https://t.co/35jZ53DU0f. I don't know about you, but that sounds like a phishing domain to me. So I tried to report it to PayPal. With @stripe it's 1 click done.
