It's been a while!
Tomorrow "Untitled Plane Game" will be mentioned along with a bunch of technical details during my lightning talk titled “Building a 3D game using real geodata” (pretty lame title, I know) at @godotcon in Berlin. See you there!

We hope you enjoy the new release page format as much as we did preparing it!
Defining scenarios in JSON opens endless possibilities for me (to come up with some crazy shit and some ridiculous missions) + makes it possible for anyone else to write scenarios for the game.
Stay tuned, more details will be shared later!
Untitled Plane Game is a game played in the "real" world — currently it uses the database of ~3900 airports and ~5000 cities. As an example, here are all the *playable* airports in Benelux.
The aim will be to build an airline but the game is gonna be more than just that ⬇️
This mechanism is extemely flexible and allows to create different actions, events, conditions (for example, certain events can be executed with a delay or after a certain other condition is fulfilled) and missions.
I wrote some already:
*some real work has finally being done*
Untitled Plane Game is an upcoming strategy game written in @godotengine and coming to your Macs and PCs in 2024.
It features a real world with real cities, airports and endless possibilities to create the airline of your dreams! ✈️
@godotengine (this video is from ~2 weeks ago - the problem with polygons is solved now, but you can easily guess why this happened to someone who has never tried to map 2D coordinates onto a sphere)
@godotengine To be fair, all the concepts of 3D game development are pretty new to me - whether it's shaders, polygons and their triangulation, creating the planet itself based on geodata, and creating terrain based on real geodata (still in process).
And sometimes things don't go well:
Hello and welcome onboard!
My name is Alex (@alwxtwi), I'm very new to gamedev, and I want to utilize this account to share not only what this game is about, but also my thoughts on gamedev, on @unity and how it feels to me, on C# and graphics for the game.
Time for take off!
