established Psychosocial Community Volunteer (PCV) teams in Malakal & Renk, #SouthSudan. 60 dedicated PCVs provide immediate and accessible support designed to facilitate healing and alleviate long-term psychological effects of conflict. #MentalHealth

Since the 2013 conflict in South Sudan, women in Malakal have faced severe economic challenges. In 2024, the Upper Nile Youth Development Association (UNYDA), funded by UNDP & Japan, conducted business management training for 80 women survivors of conflict-related sexual violence
, providing them with start-up kits for income-generating activities.
One beneficiary, Nya Law Lual, a widow and mother of five, transformed her small vegetable business with the training and support. Her monthly earnings increased to 270,000 SSP, allowing her to save 100,000 SSP
