As Leah’s Yard prepares to open to the public after major transformation, we spoke to Philip Drury, the last business owner to leave Leah’s in 2000.
He showed us stunning pictures from the past 50 years and gave us his opinion on the redevelopment of the Grade II listed building.

We're at the huge anti-fascist rally in Sheffield city centre.
Around half a dozen far-right activists were here earlier, but were quickly driven out of Barker's Pool by a crowd of around 500 Sheffielders.
Loved seeing #chariotsoffire at @crucibletheatre - Robert Hastie's final curtain call as artistic director. Wonderful athleticism and staging from an ensemble cast who more than answer the question of "why are you running?"
Love this so much. When I was working on the first @LeahsYard comms plan I spent ages staring at the original photo. Great to see it recreated like this.
🚨OPENING DATE!🚨
On Saturday 24th August the doors to Leah’s Yard will swing back open marking a new chapter in the life of this historic Sheffield building.
The first photo here was taken in 1981, the second yesterday.
The best of Sheffield in the heart of the city, again.
Could this be the future of #Sheffield's rail network? @GarethDennis thinks so in this ace piece for @sheffieldtrib.
Given my recent love for boarding trams and then running home, this provides a great direction of travel... sure @adam0407 would agree!

Just discovered lad's doodles in an old @PeteMcKee diary. Love how he has abandoned imitation in favour of his own style within a week (similarity to Kate's Breathing entirely accidental)
@SimonOxley9@BBCSport3CR@BedfordBluesRFC Gave me my first job after work experience at the Times & Citizen in Union Street in 1989. Always thinking outside the box, and a great journo too.
Great to witness the second coming of #SHFcontent@SHFcontent, albeit virtually. But judging by these wonderful floral shenanigans by speaker @joehornerphoto, the future is bright. Literally, the dogs.
It's no surprise that we love a film about water, so we can't wait to see the dreamlike and euphoric RIVER by @jenpeedom at #Sheffield's @showroomcinema next month.
Stay tuned for a special offer for Trust members to see it and learn more about our own riverside mission
Surprised that @CllrTerry_Fox went for a custard cream rather than one of his own double crunch creams but I love the #Sheffield analogy and the latest bit of excellent writing by @sheffieldtrib
