Issue 1 of Mindfulness Monday! The 7-11 breathing is a relaxation exercise that helps focus your attention away from any anxieties and onto your breathing instead.
Hello all! We have just made our first podcast over on Twitch.
On today’s podcast, we had a chat with the lovely Billy Thomas, a first year student studying in Wales. He spoke about how a video with the purpose of venting his feelings, has made an impression on so many others💙
(From 4thFeb) Its Time to talk day 2021🎉
As for us at Frame of Mind, we will be having our own discussions over the next few weeks. If you would like to be a part of these discussions around student mental health, please drop us a message. We are looking to host them over zoom.
We believe the University Environment is a key setting to tackle the Mental Health of young people.
But the environment brings many pressures including financial, social and academic.
Universities have a duty of care to ensure students are well supported during their journey.
during all of the lockdowns that have occurred. I want to see people get the proper support they need when they need it as time is a killer and we need to help people immediately.”
Meet our final team member:
“Hi I’m Liam and I am studying a BA Honors Film degree. I have been trying to get involved in as much mental health work as possible in the past months as I have seen so many people around me and close to me fall heavily into dark places
My hope is that speaking out could help others, even if it is just one person to speak up or get support. And please remember, you are not alone in this.”
Meet our fourth team member:
“Hi I’m Laura, and I study the Masters in Songwriting and Production. I have been a passionate mental health advocate since 2016. I have my own experiences and have faced stigma and discrimination for having my condition.
“Hi, I’m Fran and I am a third year Human geography student at Cardiff University. I am extremely passionate about our campaign as the pandemic has highlighted that mental health services in many universities need more funding
Student services at my uni have supported me at various times throughout the last few years, and I want every student to be able to access the help that they need for their mental health when they need it."
Meet our first team member:
“Hello, my name is Alisha and I am a third year university student. Inspired by my own struggles, I am determined to use my experiences for the better and make a difference to the lives of students facing mental health difficulties.
As you can imagine, the lockdown has made it increasingly difficult for students to maintain positive mental well-being which was already at a breaking point pre-pandemic with underfunded services and long waiting lists.
