@TimHannan Simply put: tariffs are a tax that American businesses have to pay, which they can't handle, so it has to be passed down to us, the consumers. Trump is bragging about the money he's bringing in, but it's our money he's bringing in.

Tariffs are taxes paid by American importers, not foreign govts, meaning the money “flowing in” is actually coming from US businesses and consumers, not China, India or anyone else.

It’s like robbing your own citizens and calling it foreign income. For someone who claims to be a business genius, not understanding this basic economic principle either points to a dangerously low IQ or deliberate deception, and neither is reassuring.

Any connection Trump has to Christianity isn't even tenuous. It's completely fake. To whatever extent he's ever laid claim to being a Christian, it's via false teachers going all the way back to his occasional visits to the "church" of Norman Vincent Peale. "Norman Vincent Peale is my pastor," he repeatedly said. His installation of a charlatan like Paula White in the White House should therefore be no surprise. He loves her because she flatters him and doesn't EVER make any demands that include taking up a cross or practicing personal repentance.

This is what the broader church in America is empowering by empowering Trump. And, sadly, a multitude of preachers are at the head of the pack, raising this moral reprobate and his dangerous spiritual associates into a position of supreme political power in this country.

The damage Trump is doing to the nation, and to the world, is bad enough. But the worst mayhem he is causing is within the professing church. Many will probably never recover mentally or spiritually from the era of Donald Trump.

I mourn for my country. Most of all, from a personal standpoint, I mourn for my family, friends, and fellow Christians who have been sucked in by Trump, and Trumpism. And, I mourn our failure to raise up a viable political alternative to the Left, and to this wicked cult of personality that now owns the formerly grand old party, lock, stock, and barrel.
