WATCH | Disappointment grew among the student body as they found the chancellor’s and administration’s responses vague and lacking concrete steps to address their concerns during a sectoral consultation initiated by the administration today.
The consultation was ultimately cut short as students staged a walkout, sustaining their call for a “Better UPMin.” They emphasized the need for a definite date and venue for another consultation, as many questions remain unanswered.
The chancellor said that another session will be held either at the end of February or early March.

UPDATE | The scheduled Sectoral Consultation with the newly re-elected Chancellor Murao will push through with the original schedule as reported by the UP Mindanao University Student Council. In a letter sent earlier today, the USC, along with the Council of Student Leaders asserted to conduct the consultation on a later time schedule at the Atrium instead of the DC-UP Sports Complex Training Gym.
The student body raised concerns on accessibility of the venue, active student participation due to the scheduled day, and the feasibility of the atrium to guarantee attendance. However, Chancellor Murao responded that the consultation will push through on Monday, February 11 at 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, as planned.
