Dasda Aspirational Block of Tripura took a step forward in water resource management with its ongoing Jal Utsav initiative. Under the guidance of water experts from the Drinking Water & Sanitation (DWS) department, a comprehensive maintenance drive of Jal Sampada assets took place. These efforts are a testament to the block's commitment to water quality.

The initiative focused on methodical cleaning and preservation of vital watershed assets, ensuring their optimal functionality and longevity. Through this coordinated effort, the DWS department demonstrated how targeted maintenance activities can strengthen water security. This systematic approach not only enhances infrastructure reliability but also paves the way for sustainable water resource management.

Revitalising Water Resources: Community-Led Jal Sampada Maintenance in Ri-Bhoi

Ri-Bhoi District, Meghalaya, marks a significant achievement in watershed management through its people's participatory approach to Jal Sampada maintenance. This initiative goes beyond routine cleaning of water storage assets, embracing a comprehensive evaluation system where the cleaning dates are being mentioned making the process transparent.

The Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) of Ri-Bhoi, established a new benchmark in participatory watershed management, where local people actively contributed to both maintenance activities and performance assessment. Through this collaborative model, the district ensured sustainable water resource management while promoting a sense of ownership among community members, leading to more effective and long-lasting water conservation outcomes.
