@401k_Maxi@thewealthdad All things being equal, the reasons retirement plans โcanโ be better are that employers could auto subscribe you and money comes directly out of paycheck.
For some that is big because they never saw the money to begin with.

Consider:
-401k existing management fees
- fees of the funds you hold
- do you actually wanna change the investment?
- will this disqualify you from future backdoor Roth IRA bc of pro rata rules? (Assuming traditional 401k moving to traditional IRA)
