She was deported to #Auschwitz from #Theresienstadt ghetto on 16 October 1944 with her daughter Eva (b. 1936). They were both murdered in a gas chamber.

Actress Maggie Gyllenhaal, speaking at the Venice Film Festival, compares the new film "NAZA," about Israel's conduct during the war with Hamas, to a movie about the Holocaust.

Specifically, to "The Zone of Interest," which shows the idyllic family life of a Nazi official who lived right next to Auschwitz.

That movie shows Nazi officials uncaringly going about their lives as they gas millions of defenseless men, women, and children, steal the possessions of the dead, and rape inmates.

She's comparing the most industrialized genocide in history, waged to wipe Jews off the planet, to a war Hamas started by kidnapping, murdering, and raping Israeli civilians.

It doesn't just erase Hamas's role in starting the war. It distorts the history of the Holocaust and disgraces the memory of 6 million Jews.
